Our colleague Dr. Patrick Lee, MD from Tiyatien Health forwarded along the following request about an exciting new program that he is helping to lead:
The
Massachusetts General
Hospital is seeking a
talented and dedicated leader to help launch and
steward an ambitious
new program
in Global Primary Care
(GPC). The GPC
program
aims to train future leaders for a career in
global primary care; pioneer new models
of
primary health
care
by investing in responsible, reciprocal,
long‐term
partnerships; and foster
a global learning
community
dedicated
to
primary
care delivery in nations
and communities around the world. The
initial focus of the GPC program will be a four‐year residency track in internal medicine
and primary
care that
combines clinical training
at MGH
with an MPH
at the Harvard School of Public Health, ten
months
of
international
fieldwork, and a four‐year mentored
thesis.
The candidate
must have a demonstrated
commitment
to underserved
populations, prior
experience
living or working in resource‐limited
international settings, and strong person alignment with
the vision of the
GPC
program. An
intended commitment
of at least
3‐5 years
is preferred.
