Dr. Jhapat Bahadur Thapa
Dr. Thapa was born in the district of Achham and completed his secondary education there. He then graduated from BP Koirala Institue of Health Sciences where he obtained his medical training (MBBS). Dr. Thapa served as Nyaya’s Medical Director for the first two years of Nyaya’s operations, finally stepping down in April of 2010. Since Nyaya’s inception, Dr. Thapa has overseen all aspects of Nyaya’s clinical work and served as an inspiring leader for the organization and community. In this video, drawing on his experiences from growing up and working in Achham, Dr. Thapa provides insight into problems Nyaya has faced within Achham and discusses how Nyaya has dealt with such issues with strong support from the Achhami community. Highlighting the need for essential medical services in Achham, Dr. Thapa also talks about Nyaya’s future plans for expansion.
