Here’s a great video from the Davos World Economic Forum, highlighting the remarkable work that AMD, the 50% by 2015 initiative, and the Open Architecture Network are doing with Nyaya Health, Kallari (Ecuador), and Sidarec (Kenya):
There are some beautiful scenes of Achham taken by filmmaker Turk Pinkin. He also included some clips taken by Nyaya member Roshani Dhungana, who had previously created a powerful documentary of HIV in the region. Stay tuned over the next couple of months; right now more than 130 architecture teams around the globe are developing designs for our telemedicine center. A central focus of this work will be to get information and telecommunications technologies into the hands of local community health workers. The winning team will be selected in March, and they will be coming out over the summer to get to work.
